Alleged New iPhone Connector: Both Blessing and Burden

By Jared Newman, Speculation about Apple's next iPhone is piling up ahead of an expected fall launch. The latest unconfirmed story, from Reuters, claims that the next iPhone will use a 19-pin dock connector, which would be smaller than the 30-pin connector in all current iOS devices. The smaller dock connector will make room for a headphone jack on the bottom of the iPhone, Reuters' two "sources familiar with the matter" said.

Microsoft Details Xbox 360 Free To Play Game Plans

Microsoft has taken its time to introduce free-to-play gaming on Xbox 360, but that's soon to change. The platform holder plans to publish Japanese studio Toylogic's online brawler Happy Wars as its first free-to-play game later this year, followed by action-RPG Ascend: New Gods from Toy Soldiers maker Signal Studios.Both will be available free of charge to Xbox Live Gold subscribers, but they'll "leverage the Microsoft Points system" through microtransactions.

New 'Microsoft Surface' Tablet Revealed

By Mike Jackson for CVG UK Microsoft has revealed a new tablet device - the new 'Microsoft Surface'.MS CEO Steve Ballmer took to the stage of a hastily called press conference today to reveal the device - which comes in two SKUs; 'Surface for Windows RT' and a more powerful 'Surface for Windows Pro'. The RT SKU is 9.3mm thin, weighs 1.5lbs, has a 10.6 inch screen, supports full size USB, is powered by an nVidia ARM mobile processor and is wrapped in a "first of its kind" liquid metal-formed magnesium case.
